Teens!  Are you strapped for cash and stressed out about what to get your friends and family for Christmas this year?

No worries!  Join us in the library's community room for a make and take DIY session featuring jewelry, Sharpie mugs, bookmarks, and more.

Food for Fines

November 2 - 7, for every one non perishable food item you bring in, get $1 off your fines!  Give back to the community while getting rid of your fines. The food will be donated to the Altoona Compassion Coalition. 

We cannot waive replacement fees or fines from certain libraries.  Please feel free to ask us how much of your fine we can waive during Food for Fines week.

Top trivia team wins Action Ctiy All Day Passes at the Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire.

Author Visit: Brian Freeman

Brian Freeman: Thrillers, Publishers, and the Write Stuff

Join us at Altoona Public Library for this Chippewa Valley Book Festival event with author Brian Freeman!  Mystery and thriller lovers - and aspiring writers - will want to mark their calendars for this event.  Freeman's novel Spilled Blood won the award for Best Hardcover Novel in the International Thriller Writers Awards, and his ten books have been sold in 46 countries and 20 languages. His latest thriller is Season of Fear.

Book 'Em Mystery Book Club

Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., September through May. Books may be picked up at the library -- we usually have copies of the upcoming book available about a month before the book club meets.  Newcomers are always welcome!
