Are you befuddled by technology? Do you need help with your smartphone, laptop, or tablet? Is there something else that you could use one-on-one help with? Altoona Public Library’s Technology Tutor can help! The primary purpose of the Technology Tutor is to help you learn how to use technology!
Examples include:
- Help with navigating and using:
- Laptops (Windows/Android)
- Smartphones (iPhone/Android/Pixel)
- Tablets (Android only)
- Help using Google and associated applications (Docs/Slides/Google Drive/Gmail)
- Microsoft applications (Word/PowerPoint)
- Help using apps/social media:
- Snapchat
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Spotify
Limitations:
- The Technology Tutor can offer limited assistance setting up services requiring usernames, passwords, and personally identifiable information. If you require assistance in this area, you will be required to create, enter and secure your own account information. The Technology Tutor cannot create accounts for you.
- For safety and security purposes, Altoona Public Library Technology Tutors, nor Altoona Public Library staff, can help with income tax, health insurance, credit reports, legal issues, or other personal business, computer or hardware repairs.
You may schedule a FREE 30-minute session by calling 715.839.5029 and speaking with a clerk at the Circulation Desk. Please provide your name, what type of device you need help with (smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc.), and what you would like to accomplish. If we feel the Technology Tutor can help you, we will add you to the schedule!
